  • John Tate – DHS – attends many after school activities, takes exceptional photographs, and shares with the yearbook and newspaper staff
  • Lynn Longan – RMS – stepped in to help prepare extended sub plans for an unexpected illness of a co-worker
  • Reni Whitcombe – RMS – stepped in to plan for a teacher who had an extended illness, taking much stress off of a coworker
  • Candy Lind – RMS – for being a sounding board for coworkers and providing encouragement
  • Maria Peterson – Jefferson – is an advocate for all students, going above and beyond to help all

  • Jason Burgess – DHS – does a great job of demonstrating patience, empathy, and a sense of humor when working with freshman health students
  • Jessica Meusel – Jefferson – makes connections with her students a high priority as she encourages them to reach their highest potential
  • Carrie King – RMS – organized the RCBM test schedule for this past winter to make it more efficient for the students and the adults who administer it

Dan Crawford from DHS is being honored for his caring and collaborative attitude toward his students and colleagues.

Kellie Glenn from Jefferson is being honored for being willing to go above and beyond to provide exciting opportunities and experiences for students, like the PBIS video she created.

Jill Marciniec from DHS is being honored for working very hard to develop curriculum for her classes.

Kim Munson from DHS is being honored for being such a valuable, kind, caring asset to her co-teachers and students.

Mike Olson from DHS is being honored for giving of his time and talent in various venues and reaching a variety of students by motivated them in their individual creativity.

Teacher of the Month Nomination Forms/DEA meeting dates and locations

DEA will be honoring Teachers of the Month. Employees of Dixon Public Schools will have the opportunity to recognize/nominate teachers by submitting a nomination form. The forms will be collected and entered into a drawing. One nomination form will be drawn at random. All teachers that are nominated will receive a copy of the nomination form. The Teacher of the Month will receive a gift card to be used at a local business. Nomination forms are due the Friday before the DEA Representative Assembly Meeting. The drawing will occur at the DEA Rep meeting the following Wednesday. Forms may be sent through courier to DeeDee Cibu at DHS in the counseling office or emailed to her at

DEA May Teachers of the Month

  • Wendy Fitzanko – from DHS is being recognized for her work in developing a curriculum that enables students to be successful and has students learning about culture as well as the language she teaches.
  • Kelly Gingras – from DHS demonstrates her desire in preparing her students for life after high school, preparing her students in their quest for employment
  • Lisa Guenther – from DHS is a leader among teachers and is always willing to share her knowledge and research of technology with others.
