  • Micah Hey (Wasthington) – has been a great addition to Washington as a first year teacher
  • Dolph Ricks (Madison) – has been a great help to his co-workers during the recent ice storms
  • Nate Geeves (RMS) – is recognized for mentoring new staff at RMS and adding much humor to his co-workers
  • Eva Langloss (RMS) – deserves thanks for all of her hard work, dedication, and patience in developing the best schedules for students with IEP’s
  • Paula Durband (RMS) – gives all efforts to make sure all IEP’s were covered as RMS transitioned with new teachers this January
  • Candy Lind (RMS) – nominated for many reasons. She serves on several committees, taking notes to distrubute; she works with students for them to succeed and feel appreciated
  • Jen Hall (RMS) – for going above and beyond to help with IEP’s and work loads
  • Tammi Morthland (RMS) – also went above and beyond covering IEP’s while RMS was short-staffed, always helping where needed
  • Tom Padilla (DHS)– does a fantastic job introducing opportunities for students to experience culture and arts outside of school

  • Carrie King (RMS) – worked hard to change schedules for RMS special education department and has been a great mentor for new special education teachers
  • Talarie Bilharz (RMS) – is a positive influence for students and co-workers with a great attitude
  • Jill Alston (Washinton) – worked hard to get grade level on board with play-based learning and is a leader that always goes above and beyond for her students
  • Suzanne Weaver (RMS) – spearheading changes at RMS to keep everyone safe (cameras, CHIRP posters, mirrors, locked doors, etc….)

  • Allison Fox (DHS) – Allison does a phenomenal job at engaging students and supporting her athletes. She is enthusiastic and professional.

  • Candy Lind (RMS) – We appreciate all of your work with social and culture/climate committees
  • Diane Conklen (RMS) – We appreciate all of your work with the social committee
  • Tracy Kitzman (RMS) – She works very hard to meet the academic, mental, and basic needs for all of her students, especially those at-risk.
  • Aaron Eddy (DHS) – Not only does he work diligently to incorporate real world applications into his lessons, but Aaron, as student council sponsor, led his students through successful activities of homecoming and raising $650 for the food pantry.
  • Courtney Gaulrapp (Jefferson) – has gone above and beyond to to organize fun weekly and quarterly incentives for PBIS that staff and students love.

DEA May Teachers of the Month

Congratulations to the DEA May Teachers of the Month!

  • Entire DHS Staff  – The teachers at DHS have gone above and beyond to maintain professionalism while ensuring that students get the best education possible while having to deal with construction noises, debris, and disruptions on a daily basis.
  • Alex Schultz – RMS – Alex has been a great asset with her positive attitude and willingness to roll with the punches.
  • JoAnn Hamer – RMS – Jo-Ann was responsible for starting the process to have Reagan’s inaugural art fair this year on April 26
  • Carrie King – RMS – Carrie is always ready and willing to help, and she is a wealth of knowledge about accommodations.

Congratulations to all!!

Dan Crawford from DHS is being honored for his caring and collaborative attitude toward his students and colleagues.

Kellie Glenn from Jefferson is being honored for being willing to go above and beyond to provide exciting opportunities and experiences for students, like the PBIS video she created.

Jill Marciniec from DHS is being honored for working very hard to develop curriculum for her classes.

Kim Munson from DHS is being honored for being such a valuable, kind, caring asset to her co-teachers and students.

Mike Olson from DHS is being honored for giving of his time and talent in various venues and reaching a variety of students by motivated them in their individual creativity.

Teacher of the Month Nomination Forms/DEA meeting dates and locations

DEA will be honoring Teachers of the Month. Employees of Dixon Public Schools will have the opportunity to recognize/nominate teachers by submitting a nomination form. The forms will be collected and entered into a drawing. One nomination form will be drawn at random. All teachers that are nominated will receive a copy of the nomination form. The Teacher of the Month will receive a gift card to be used at a local business. Nomination forms are due the Friday before the DEA Representative Assembly Meeting. The drawing will occur at the DEA Rep meeting the following Wednesday. Forms may be sent through courier to DeeDee Cibu at DHS in the counseling office or emailed to her at

  • Wendy Fitzanko – from DHS is being recognized for her work in developing a curriculum that enables students to be successful and has students learning about culture as well as the language she teaches.
  • Kelly Gingras – from DHS demonstrates her desire in preparing her students for life after high school, preparing her students in their quest for employment
  • Lisa Guenther – from DHS is a leader among teachers and is always willing to share her knowledge and research of technology with others.
  • Davin Roach – from DHS is being honored for how he incorporates technology, sets high expectations for all students, and never loses sight of what is most important:  the education of our students.
